At Applications Academy LLC Tutoring Center, our
goal is to provide an environment for students of all ages to perfect
their learning skills.
We aim to help students achieve goals in education using the
best possible information and the newest teaching strategies
available. With the
assistance of our highly trained tutors, we here at Applications
Academy believe any student in any situation can move toward success.
Applications Academy LLC
Tutoring Centers offer one on one tutoring for almost all subjects,
as well as seminars for specific subjects and tests. We offer flexible payment
plans and scheduling as well as minimal contractual agreements.
A Different Way To Learn
We
are a new kind of tutoring company that provides individual help for
all grades and subjects. Students and parents now have a different
choice for tutoring - one that understands that all students learn at
their own speed and in their own way. There are no timetables that dictate how long each
student needs to succeed.
Rather, we create our lesson plans for each individual student
based on his or her needs.
We teach study skills, organization and motivational
techniques along with the regular academics. We give homework to students
purely to reinforce newly learned skills and to challenge students to
take the ‘next step’ on their own. Our homework typically comes directly from students’
textbooks and is very minimal, no more than 15 minutes two or three
times a week (average).
Applications
Academy’s Tutors
All tutors must receive grades at a 3.o or better in
any area they tutor. All
of our tutors go through a certification program and testing of
skills as well as hands on training designed by psychologist,
teachers and human developmentalists. Our staff is highly trained and qualified as
tutors. All training is
completed before a tutor is placed in the academic situation;
including 5 hours of trainer supervised tutoring.

tutoring session discussing organization and secrets to success for
NEW students. This includes training in study skills, test taking,
and time management. Please

Our CAHSEE reviews have been going quite well! We
will be scheduling another set for May. Students who attend our CAHSEE workshops go into
the testing environment with a solid review, a firm grasp on what is
expected, experience with actual CAHSEE test questions and timing,
and new confidence!
Tests and Measures
Although we
do initial evaluations at Applications Academy LLC Tutoring Center,
we do not believe tests are always the most accurate way to measure
ability. At no time do
any of our tests measure future ability, I.Q. or student’s end
potential. Similarly,
our evaluations are not diagnostic or prognostic. Because of our belief that
all people, young to very mature, have enormous and unending
potential, we take care to use tools for testing that measure only
very specific things; such as proper use of fractions or correct
sentence structure. At
no time will we diagnose anything. If students or parents already have diagnoses from
professionals that would aide the learning process, we would gladly
phone conference or review written statements about these diagnoses
in an effort to better the student experience.
Learning
Disabilities
At Applications Academy LLC Tutoring Center, we
welcome all types of learners!
Several of our staff are specially trained and hold degree
specialties in learning disabilities and disorders. For those with unique
sets of learning disabilities we are able to explore with the student
what works best to help them learn. We do not do diagnostic assessments, however, we
can help student and families understand their assessments from other
professionals and what direction it can give toward successful
learning. Applications
Academy, as a part of tutor training, offers special training that
helps teach tutors to assist students with disabilities.
Learning
Differences versus Disabilities
Depending on who you talk to, how much they have
studied the learning process, and how politically correct a person
wants to be – you may hear these terms used interchangeably and
perhaps without understanding. Terminology can be confusing. But our response is not. If your student is struggling
with academics, is behind in learning subject content, just can’t
seem to catch on in class, We Can Help!
Physical Handicaps
Our Calimesa Tutoring Center is wheelchair/walker
accessible. Handicapped
parking is near our door with level access from vehicle to
center. Our staff cannot
transfer, push wheelchairs, or provide bathroom assistance. We can provide tables and
space enough to accommodate the needs of the handicapped. Please make us aware of
specific accommodation your student requires prior to arrival.
